1. The competition is for mixed pairs. Those eligible to enter are males and females who must both be members of clubs affiliated to either the W.B.A. or the W.W.B.A., though they need not be members of the same club.
The pair must be one male and one female.
2. The competition shall be played under the World Bowls Board laws of the game, and in accordance with the by-laws and regulations laid down by the W.B.A. Competition Committee, whose decision shall be final and binding. Matches will be played over 21 ends.
3. SUBSTITUTION: The two players taking part in the first game shall constitute the pair, and should normally play together throughout the competition. One additional - and the same - player may, however, be used as a substitute at any time, providing he/she has not already played in the competition. He/She may play in any position. .
4. Entry will be on an official form, and will only be accepted on payment of £4.00 per pair.
5. The closing date for entry to the competition is 28th. March, 2009.
6. The first - named pair in each round shall be responsible for all match arrangements (and green fees, if any). Three dates must be given to the opponents; these dates shall not be consecutive, and shall not include the closing date for the round.
7. Dress to be white above the waist and grey below, for all rounds before the semi-final stage.
8. The competition will be conducted on an area basis.
9. The quarter- finals will be played on a neutral green and arranged by the competitors.
10. Semi-Finals and Final will be played at Llandrindod Wells on Sunday, 6th. September, 2009.
The dress for the semi-finals and final will be Whites.
Please note: After the draw, a result card will be enclosed for the home players. The completed result card must be returned to the W.B.A. Assistant Secretary, by FIRST CLASS post, immediately after the game has been played.
